Penelope – Liebe auf den zweiten Blick

Age: born ca. *06/2025 (estimated) Gender: female/neutered compatibility with others: suitable for a second animal husbandry: apartment with a secure balcony, no outdoor access! Health: dewormed, treated for fleas, microchipped, vaccinated (cold/fever), mother tested negative (FIV+FeLV) Euro Penelope came to us at the end of July with her mother and brother. The kittens were born on a garden plot. The mother is a tame Scottish-Fold/Persian mixed breed cat. Penelope inherited her folded ears from her, making her a Scottish-Fold mixed breed (her brother did not have folded ears). As for color and fur, it seems the father's influence is more prominent, likely an European Short-Hair tomcat. Penelope is a charming little owl; she lives at her foster home with three other kittens and gets along well with them (unfortunately, these are already placed). She is a very cautious cat, needing some time to warm up to both people and other cats. Penelope likes to play, even with her people. However, she still doesn't really like being touched. She plays carefree with the other kittens, and as you can see in the photo, she has already found her way to the bed. Penelope needs a home that is understanding and can accept that while she will eventually get used to being touched, she is not a cuddly cat. Penelope also has special requirements for her cattery mates. Although she is currently a normal, young, and playful cat, it could be that as a mixed breed, she may develop health issues typical of Scottish Folds, which are prone to joint and bone problems. Her cattery mate should be playful but not prone to physical roughhousing, as that could potentially hurt her. Therefore, no ruff rider or "heavyweight." At the moment, Penelope is doing well and has no health issues. Whether this will change in the future is unknown, it could. We are therefore looking for responsible people who are aware of this possibility and ideally have experience with initially shy animals. Die Kitten wurden in einem Gartengelände geboren. Bei der Mutter handelt es sich um eine zahme Scotish-Fold/Perser-Mischlingskatze. Penelope hat von ihr die Klappöhrchen geerbt, was sie auch zu einem Scotish-Fold-Mischling macht (ihr Bruder hatte keine Klappohren). Bei Farbe und Fell hat sich dann wohl der Vater durchgesetzt, der vermutlich ein Europäisch-Kurzhaar-Kater gewesen sein dürfte. Penelope ist ein bezaubernde kleine Eule sie lebt auf ihrer Pflegestelle mit drei anderen Jungtieren zusammen und ist mit ihnen gut verträglich (leider sind diese schon vergeben). Sie ist eine sehr vorsichtige Katze, braucht etwas, bis sie mit Mensch und Katze „warm wird“. Penelope spielt gerne, auch mit ihren Menschen. Sie mag es aber noch nicht so wirklich, angefasst zu werden. Mit den anderen Kitten spielt sie unbeschwert, und wie man auf dem Foto erahnen kann, hat sie auch bereits den Weg auf/ins Bett gefunden. Penelope braucht ein verständnisvolles Zuhause, dass akzeptieren kann, wenn sie sich zwar mit der Zeit anfassen lassen wird, aber wohl keine Schmusekatze ist. Auch an ihre kätzischen Mitbewohner stellt Penelope besondere Anforderungen. Denn obwohl sie derzeit eine ganz normale junge und verspielte Katze ist, kann es sein, dass sie auch als Mischling mit der Zeit rassetypische gesundheitliche Probleme bekommen könnte (bei Scotish Fold handelt es sich um eine Qualzucht, die zu Knorpel- und Gelenkproblemen neigt). ihre Mit-Samtpfote sollte also verspielt sein, aber nicht dazu neigen, körperlich mit ihr zu balgen. Denn das könnte ihr vielleicht irgendwann weh tun. Also bitte kein Raufbold und kein „Schwergewicht“. Im Moment geht es Penelope aber gut und sie hat keine gesundheitlichen Probleme. Ob das irgendwann anders wird, kann niemand wissen, es könnte aber sein. Wir suchen also verantwortungsbewusste Menschen, die diese Möglichkeit bewusst akzeptieren und die idealerweise auch Erfahrung mit anfangs scheueren Tieren haben.
