Adopt Pépite

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 4 years

Age: born on 1/10/2022 Identification: 250 269 610 721 161 Physical characteristics: a magnificent tabby cat, with a very beautiful little nose! Tested positive for FIV and FeLV, neutered, identified by microchip, vaccinated. Personality: My name is Pépite and I was a street cat. After a serious accident and a rather long stay in the clinic to recover, the CDA took me in. I am currently living in a foster family and I'm doing great! Me and my human get along very well: at first I was a bit hyperactive and a bit anxious, but lately I feel really good with her. I have started giving and asking for lots of cuddles: in the morning I come to wake up my human by purring when her alarm goes off and when she's reading, in the evening I come to lie next to her and look at her lovingly. I love cuddles, but I'm also very playful. My favorite toys are feather wands, I can play with them for hours with my human. I also love bringing her little stuffed mice onto her bed so she can throw them for me. I have surprisingly adapted well to apartment life, I love lounging on the couch and in my basket. In general, I adapt very well to new things, I'm very curious and when I'm left with someone else, I immediately feel comfortable and I can't wait to meet new people. I'm also very sociable, which makes me a perfect cat to entertain guests. I'm looking for a family that will love me, give me cuddles and play with me for life. Background: I grew up on the streets before I had to be taken to the clinic after a very serious accident that I barely survived. Ideal placement: a loving and fairly available home to play with this active little feline that needs interactions/stimulation. A secure outdoor access would be very beneficial. To be adopted alone due to his FIV and FeLV positive status. Contact: animal is in foster care in Paris 11th. Contact Karine, volunteer at (preferably by SMS after 8pm and weekends), by email or via web form.

About Pépite

What life with Pépite looks like

Pépite is a small adult european shorthair cat waiting at Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 in Paris.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pépite, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pépite?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pépite on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pépite if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pépite already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pépite isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pépite and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
