Adopt PEPSI

Female · Senior · 15 years

A PEPSI was found on the street two years ago. The woman who rescued her reported the case to the Police, who checked and found that the dog had a microchip. Unfortunately, the owner's information was no longer updated. It was impossible to locate them. The process remained pending in Court for TWO long years, TWO years during which PEPSI was "held" at the Cantinho da Milu and could not be adopted. Only now the Court closed the case because they were unable to identify the owner, meaning no one was punished for the crime of abandonment. PEPSI was finally "freed." We cannot lose a minute. PEPSI deserves now a home where she can be happy forever. She lost TWO years. In a dog's life, two years is a very long time. We should recover the lost time. Help us spread the word about PEPSI. She is a very kind and sociable dog. She will be delivered vaccinated, dewormed, spayed, and with a microchip.

Devemos recuperar o tempo perdido. Ajudem-nos a divulgar a Pepsi. É uma cadela muito meiga e sociável. Será entregue vacinada, desparasitada, esterilizada e com microchip.

About PEPSI

What life with PEPSI looks like

PEPSI is a large senior dog waiting at O Cantinho da Milu in Lisbon.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇹Adopting from Portugal

Portuguese rescues coordinate extensively with European rescue networks for cross-border placements, especially for galgos and podencos. Sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID are standard. Adoption fees typically cover the full vet workup.

Frequently asked

Adopting PEPSI, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about PEPSI?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. O Cantinho da Milu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw PEPSI on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt PEPSI if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — O Cantinho da Milu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is PEPSI already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if PEPSI isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with O Cantinho da Milu early rather than rehoming privately; they know PEPSI and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
