Adopt Peter

Male · Kitten · 10 months

Peter is a brave, curious little tomcat who was abandoned with his siblings Carla and Dean on an undeveloped plot of land in Cartagena. Despite this difficult start, Peter has become a true adventurer. He was born around March 2025. He loves to play, climb, and explore every nook and cranny. But just as much as he loves adventure, Peter also adores being close to people: after playing, he enjoys cuddling and fully embraces the affection. His charming nature brings warmth and life to any home. Peter will not be rehomed alone, as he needs a feline friend of a similar age to grow up happily. Alternatively, he would love to bring one of his siblings along: a wonderful double package for any cat lover's heart. Currently, Peter is still in Spain. Once he reaches four months old, he can travel to his new home. For travel arrangements, he will be vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV and FeLV. Would you like to be the person by Peter's side as he embarks on his next adventure?

About Peter

What life with Peter looks like

Peter is a small puppy/kitten cat waiting at Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Peter, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Peter?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Peter on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Peter if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Peter already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Peter isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Peter and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
