We have taken her from our Romanian animal welfare partners in Brasov. She was found on a field in the summer of 2025 and then came to the city animal shelter. Before September 2025, the city animal shelter was located in the Stupin district in an industrial area on a piece of land with several buildings. The city of Brasov rented these buildings to house the street dogs. Our partner association AMP has been caring for the animals at the city animal shelter Stupin, alongside the private Victory Shelter, since October 2013. Before that, around 30,000 dogs were brutally captured and killed by the notorious dogcatcher Flavius Barbulescu. This was fortunately brought to an end thanks to the cooperation with the city of Brasov and AMP. In April 2025, the city animal shelter decided to merge with the Brasov Zoo into a joint organization. This led to a series of problems: other responsibilities, the old operating license was no longer valid, and a new one had to be applied for. Due to some deficiencies for which the owner was responsible but not fixed, it was difficult to obtain a new operating license. Fortunately, AMP was able to convince the responsible department in the city hall that it would be more sensible to move the city animal shelter into the old Victory Shelter. The move took place at the end of September 2025, so the city animal shelter Stupin is now history and continues its engaged work at a different location. Petunia is people-oriented and friendly and enjoys every bit of attention she gets. She lives with two female dogs and one male dog and is generally socially compatible, although we can imagine that she wouldn't mind being pampered as a single princess in her new home. The home should be as ground-level as possible and situated in a rural and quiet environment. A one-bedroom apartment on the fourth floor of a multi-family house in the Kassel city center would not be the ideal environment for her ;-). Wir haben sie von unseren rumänischen Tierschutzpartnern in Brasov übernommen. Dort wurde sie im Sommer 2025 auf einem Feld gefunden und ist dann in das städtische Tierheim gekommen.Bis September 2025 befand sich das städtische Tierheim im Stadtteil Stupin in einem Industriegebiet auf einem Grundstück mit mehreren Gebäuden. Diese wurden von der Stadt Brasov gepachtet, um dort die Straßenhunde unterzubringen. Unser Partnerverein AMP betreut seit Oktober 2013 neben dem privaten Victory Shelter auch die Tiere im städtischen Tierheim Stupin. Zuvor wurden dort rund 30.000 Hunde vom berüchtigten Hundefänger Flavius Barbulescu brutal eingefangen und getötet. Dies konnte zum Glück dank der Kooperation mit der Stadt Brasov und AMP beendet werden. Im April 2025 entschied die zuständige Behörde, das städtische Tierheim mit dem Zoo Brasov in eine gemeinsame Organisation zusammenzulegen. Dies führte zu einer Reihe von Problemen: andere Zuständigkeiten, die alte Betriebserlaubnis galt nicht mehr und es musste eine neue beantragt werden. Doch aufgrund von einigen Mängeln, für die der Eigentümer zuständig war, aber nicht behob, gab es Schwierigkeiten, eine neue Betriebserlaubnis zu erhalten. Zum Glück konnte AMP das zuständige Amt im Rathaus davon überzeugen, dass es sinnvoller ist, mit dem städtischen Tierheim in das alte Victory Shelter umzusiedeln. Dieser Umzug fand Ende September 2025 statt, so dass das städtische Tierheim Stupin Geschichte ist und an einem anderen Ort seine engagierte Arbeit fortführen kann.Petunia zeigt sich menschenbezogen und zutraulich und genießt jede Aufmerksamkeit, die ihr zuteil wird. Sie lebt mit zwei Hündinnen und einem Rüden zusammen und ist grundsätzlich sozial kompatibel, wobei wir uns vorstellen können, dass sie auch nichts dagegen einzuwenden hätte, wenn sie als Einzelprinzessin im neuen Zuhause verwöhnt wird. Auch bei ihr sollte das Zuhause möglichst ebenerdig sein und sich in ländlich-ruhiger Umgebung befinden. Ein Ein-Zimmer-Apartment im vierten Stock eines Mehrfamilienhauses in der Kassel Innenstadt wäre nicht das geeignete Umfeld für sie ;-) Aktuell trägt sie ihre Sommerfrisur, normalerweise ist das elegant-graue Fellkleid etwas länger.
