adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Peace and quiet, little Petunia… Her story: Cluj, Romania. Little tiger lady with the special gaze. Petunia is approximately 5.5 years old and was found in a veterinary clinic in Cluj, with which we cooperate. Notably, she had a tumor above her left eyelid, which fortunately was benign but still needed to be removed as soon as possible. She has fully recovered from the operation and the tumor. The only thing that reminds her of it is the asymmetry of her eyes. This, however, does not affect her health at all; it is purely cosmetic. Now that Petunia can travel, she longs for a family that will take care of her with love. She loves to snuggle and is always happy to be near a person. When she is not cuddling, she likes to sit by the window and observe her surroundings. She is not really active, preferring to lie on the couch rather than play and run around. The little tiger lady lives currently with a small dog and 9 cats, so she is accustomed to the company of other animals. But she does not mind living in single housing in the future. However, she can only be rehomed as a pure indoor cat. Despite this, she is certainly looking forward to observing her new kingdom from a cat-safe netted balcony.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Ruhe in Frieden, kleine Petunia…

About Petunia

What life with Petunia looks like

Petunia is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Petunia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Petunia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Petunia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Petunia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Petunia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Petunia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Petunia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
