adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen adoption process Philipp has found a home! His story: Philipp has been waiting so long for a loving home – maybe you can fulfill his dream of a family? Philipp, the beautiful male dog, is suffering greatly in the shelter. Unfortunately, he hasn't had any luck and still desperately needs his Forever Family. Philipp was abandoned as a little puppy with his mother and four siblings in the forest and came to the shelter afterwards. There, he has been waiting so long for his people who can show him how wonderful life can be. By now, all his siblings have already found homes, but he is still waiting for his little miracle… The shy Philipp is very cautious and reserved, needing patient people who can show him that he doesn't have to be afraid. He is completely homeless and has grown up in the shelter without affection, with his kennelmates constantly changing as they are allowed to travel and leave him alone again and again. This also leaves its mark on the wonderful Philipp. As a little puppy, the world was still open to him… but his hopes for a better life are slowly fading. Since Philipp is a herding dog mix, he should come into the hands of experienced people, preferably in a quiet rural environment with people who can give him security and stability. An enclosed yard would be optimal for Philipp. Philipp is of medium to large size, measuring about 55-58 cm and weighs around 25 kg. Who has a heart for our Philipp and wants to give him a home where he can finally belong? Even a foster family would bring Philipp closer to his dream. Philipp has earned it so much to be happy and overcome his fear. We want to prevent him from giving up completely in the shelter and never experiencing how wonderful an appropriate life can be. Our Philipp is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He has his EU pet passport and can be transported after a positive assessment. Even a foster home could be a springboard into a new life. Who wants to be the special motivator for our wonderful herding dog mix and give him a home? Many thanks to Natalie P.! You gave Philipp his name and thus an identity! Heartfelt thanks to Christiane O.! You support Philipp with a monthly sponsorship. As of: 10.08.

Lieben Dank Christiane O.! Du unterstützt Philipp mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft. Stand: 10.08.2024

About Philipp

What life with Philipp looks like

Philipp is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Philipp, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Philipp?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Philipp on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Philipp if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Philipp already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Philipp isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Philipp and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
