adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Phillip has found a home! His story: The little Phillip, along with his siblings Posy, Colin, Simon, and Flynn, as well as his mother, was found outside a village. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon in Romania – dogs are simply abandoned because they are no longer wanted. We hope, however, that Phillip will now have the chance to find a loving home. Currently, Phillip is about 3 months old and is expected to grow to approximately 38 cm, making him likely of medium size. He is a very special little guy: his reddish-brown, fluffy fur, the cute white paws, and especially his beautiful light green eyes make him unmistakable and melt every heart. Compared to his siblings, Phillip shows particular bravery and openness. When entering his kennel, he is among the first to curiously approach and seek contact. He is playful, open, and has great joy in discovering the world. At the same time, he also needs loving people in new situations who can give him security and gently accompany him. For Phillip, we wish for a family that will teach him the basics of being a dog with patience, calmness, and lots of affection. During the development of a puppy, consistent but sensitive guidance is particularly important. Attending a dog training class that focuses on positive reinforcement would be ideal so that he can continue to develop at his own pace. Phillip is ready for travel arrangements from around the end of April and will travel vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated, bringing his EU pet passport with him. For an adoption fee of 500 Euros, he can start his new life – maybe yours? A foster home would also be very helpful for him. Many thanks to the -Community for taking on the naming sponsorship! As of: 26.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 26.03.2026

About Phillip

What life with Phillip looks like

Phillip is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Phillip, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Phillip?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Phillip on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Phillip if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Phillip already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Phillip isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Phillip and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
