Adopt Pia E

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Profile Age: born around 2018. Gender: female. Spayed: yes. Character: reserved, well-behaved with other dogs. Size: about 50 cm. In shelter since: January 2021. Relatives: sister Marie. I have already been here in the shelter for far too long. Although I am sitting here dry, have enough food and protection from the cold winter, the situation still unsettles me somehow. The only constant in my life so far has been my sister Marie. Together with her, we are trying to find out where our journey here will lead. Many people seem to have been here for a long time, others excitedly pack their suitcases and get on the big transporter. How will it be for me? A small step towards great happiness has already happened. A godmother has quickly been found who gave me this name. But that I may hope for even more luck, I dare not believe. Or do you want to convince me otherwise? Will you be the one who shows me how much trust one can have in people, in life and in oneself? Then you must be a patient and loving person with a big heart for uncertain furry noses. You can imagine that with me it will only go step by step, because I don't know all the human things yet. I need to get used to the sounds and to the warmth and security, maybe also to the calm and the absence of the struggle for food. But I am sure that I will eventually understand that I have found MY happiness with my human. Looking for a real home, a loving, patient family or a person who opens their heart for her, a cozy dog bed, and gives her security with love. Who will show me that the struggle for survival was worth it? If you are interested in Pia, please send us an email or a message via Facebook. Pia is ready for adoption and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with traces. Traces refers to the database system that monitors all animal traffic within the EU. The dogs travel vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and dewormed and have an EU passport. Furthermore, a rapid test for Mediterranean diseases is carried out before the travel arrangements: Borreliosis, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, leishmaniasis and Dirofilariosis. The godparenthood for Pia has been taken over by Stefanie E., thus ensuring a full bowl. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!.

Steckbrief Alter: ca. 2018 geboren. Geschlecht: weiblich.

About Pia E

What life with Pia E looks like

Pia E is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pia E, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pia E?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pia E on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pia E if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pia E already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pia E isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pia E and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
