Picasso (m)

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 3 years

Picasso - a large dog with a very gentle soul Picasso is about 3 years old, around 55 cm tall, and lives in the municipal animal shelter in Botoșani in eastern Romania - one of the poorest regions in Europe. There he sits among over 800 dogs. A place full of noise, stress and hopelessness. A place where far too many dogs wait day after day for their chance. At first glance, Picasso appears impressive with his size and appearance. But behind this façade is a dog who is actually just one thing: a little timid. Picasso is incredibly friendly, very sensitive and rather submissive. He doesn't cope at all with the rough everyday life in the animal shelter. In the kennel he is completely lost and often at the mercy of the other dogs. You can see how much this situation weighs on him. He loves people. Whenever a caretaker or one of the few volunteers finds a few minutes for him, Picasso comes alive. It is precisely these moments that make everyone on site particularly sad. They see what a wonderful dog is in him - and how much he suffers from his life in the animal shelter. That's why the helpers have specifically asked us to launch an appeal for Picasso. They are convinced that he will break down emotionally if he doesn't get a chance soon. Although he hasn't been in the animal shelter for very long, this place has already left its mark on him. Picasso doesn't need a perfect person. He just needs someone who gives him security, has patience and shows him that life can also be beautiful. He deserves it so much to finally arrive. Can we get together to get Picasso out of this hell and give him the future he so badly needs? If you can imagine adopting Picasso or giving him a foster home, we would be happy to hear from you. And sharing this post can also save his life. Picasso is neutered, multiple vaccinated, dewormed, chipped and of course has an EU passport. Before departure, we will still carry out a Snap-4D test. Contact: Picasso will be placed through the animal rescue organization Casa Katharina e.V. - with pre-control and protection contract. The association naturally has the permission according to §11 Animal Welfare Act. Even after the adoption, we will continue to support you - for humans and animals. Picasso will travel to Germany as soon as he is adopted and arrive in 91278 Pottenstein, where he will be picked up by his family. There is a secure area available. Before you contact us. Is the whole family informed and agreed to your inquiry? Do you have your landlord's consent to keep a dog? Is the dog already living with you? Are you ready to pick up your new family member in Pottenstein? Then we look forward to your inquiry.

About Picasso (m)

What life with Picasso (m) looks like

Picasso (m) is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Picasso (m), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Picasso (m)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Picasso (m) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Picasso (m) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Picasso (m) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Picasso (m) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Picasso (m) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
