Pickle

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 6 years

Pickle is a healthy 6-year-old tomcat in the prime of his life. (And he’s not deaf—which is often the case with cats having white fur.) He knows exactly what he wants…and/or what he absolutely does NOT want. For example, Pickle absolutely hates traveling in a carrier! He’d rather break out of it as soon as possible. That said, Pickle behaved very nicely when he spent some time here at Animal’s Faith foundation and had to stay in a pleasantly large kennel. He happily settled down on a higher spot and patiently allowed his kennel to be cleaned every single day. Afterwards, he was free to mingle with the group in the cat room—and that works just fine too. He takes short strolls outside, lounges comfortably in the sun (though his more sensitive skin could use a bit more caution). And regularly, Pickle would just chill in ‘his’ kennel, with the gates left open. Recently, Pickle has been moved to another group of cats, and he’s behaving nicely there as well. Occasionally, he’ll give a little hiss to keep a safe distance, but that’s about it. As a top priority, he immediately set out to explore the outdoor enclosure and promptly started chilling outside. Pickle is quite fixated on cabinet treats—every single one of them must go to him, because otherwise he’ll just come and get them himself. That’s inconvenient, though, since Pickle seems unable to take “no” for an answer. He’ll have to learn that. Pickle needs a strong owner who won’t be intimidated when Pickle shows his grumpy side. We’re hoping to find the ultimate cat expert who’ll take care of Pickle—after all, Pickle deserves a second chance too. About Pickle

What life with Pickle looks like

Pickle is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Stichting Animals Faith in Netherlands.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pickle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pickle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Animals Faith handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pickle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pickle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Animals Faith will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pickle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pickle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Animals Faith early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pickle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
