Pina

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 6 months

Pina - little beauty with a big heart is looking for her forever home Pina is a beautiful tricolor cat born in mid-May 2026. Her start in life was unfortunately not easy. She was discovered and secured with her mom and brother at a very dangerous spot. Since the little family had previously lived outside and had little contact with humans, everything was new and quite scary at the foster home at first. But Pina is doing wonderfully! Within a very short time, she has made huge progress. She is becoming bolder by the day, curiously exploring her surroundings and gaining more trust. Meanwhile, she lets her foster mom stroke her and even visibly enjoys these quiet, beautiful moments - then she purrs and simply enjoys the closeness. Pina is also a very social and friendly little cat. At her foster home, she lives with several foster cats and kittens of different ages and fits in naturally and lovingly into the group. We wish Pina a home where she can be given a little time and patience so she can continue to arrive at her own pace. She is still young and we are sure she will continue to develop wonderfully. With love, peace and of course the one or other treat, she will surely conquer her humans' hearts. It would be especially nice if Pina could move in with a kitten from her foster home. She already knows her fellow cats and would have a familiar friend by her side, which would make the start in the new home even easier. Our kittens are only given away to at least two or to same-age cats. Pina will be given away with a protection contract and a deposit fee through the Ibbenbüren and Surroundings Animal Welfare Association. If you are interested, please contact Lena.

About Pina

What life with Pina looks like

Pina is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren in Ibbenbüren.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
