He needs a lot of time and for all interactions and physical contact to be very gradually introduced, or he is very likely to react in a negative way to that potential danger for him. He has mostly lived his life with a muzzle on. He is very stressed in the kennel enclosure, so his caretakers are taking him out for walks whenever they can. He has already come to trust our companion, who understands him well, as you can see in the photos, she gives him little kisses; she has taken it slow with him, giving him his time, and Piñato has gradually come to trust her more and let her show him affection. At first, he wasn't prepared for a harness and would spit, but now, instead, he has started to associate it with something positive and pleasant: going for a walk; and he now lets her put it on very well. This way, he should start to learn everything in life and begin to trust, becoming a "normal" dog.
