Pinie

European Shorthair · Female · Young · 1 year

Name: Pinie Breed: EKH Gender: female, spayed Age: June 1, 2025 In the shelter since: March 21, 2026 Pinie is a friendly and open-minded cat who approaches her people with curiosity and quickly wins hearts with her charming personality. She is playful, active, and loves plenty of variety and shared activities. Pinie gets along well with other cats and would happily find a home with a compatible feline companion of a similar age. However, she also has the typical tortoiseshell personality: if she really doesn’t like something or if things don’t go her way, she’ll definitely show her independent streak. That’s precisely what makes her character so special—anyone who loves cats with personality will quickly fall in love with Pinie. For her new home, outdoor access via a cat flap is an absolute must. After an adjustment period, Pinie would like to be able to decide for herself when to explore her surroundings and when to come home for cuddles or rest. A requirement is a traffic-calmed environment where she can safely enjoy her adventures. Who’s looking for a confident, playful, and lovable cat with character? Pinie can’t wait to find her forever people! General information about the adoption process: If you’re interested in one of our cats, please send a request via the contact form for the respective cat. Please include the following information right away: - Are you looking for an outdoor cat or an indoor cat? - For outdoor cats: Is a cat flap available? - For indoor cats: How big is the apartment? - How many people live in the household? - Are there children living in the house? If so, how many and what are their ages? - Are there other animals living in the house? If so, which ones? - What is the living situation (house or apartment? Floor? Garden?) - How many hours would the cat be left alone each day on average? - What is your year of birth? Do you have a question about this animal? Feel free to give us a call: Thursdays and Fridays from 3–5 p.m. and Saturdays from 2–5 p.m. Or write to us: Some of our residents may need a bit more patience while we find them the right home—whether due to illness, age, or special personality traits. To make their time with us as pleasant as possible, we rely on the financial support of animal lovers. By taking on a sponsorship, you’ll help us cover the daily and medical care as well as the housing of our animals. Sponsorships start at a monthly contribution of 10 euros. Of course, you’re also welcome to set the amount of your contribution yourself. As a thank-you, you’ll receive a custom-designed sponsor certificate and will be mentioned as a sponsor both on our website and on our Facebook page.

About Pinie

What life with Pinie looks like

Pinie is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at BMT Tierheim Pfullingen in Pfullingen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pinie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pinie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. BMT Tierheim Pfullingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pinie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pinie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — BMT Tierheim Pfullingen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pinie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pinie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with BMT Tierheim Pfullingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pinie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
