adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Pinsel has found his own home! His story: Sweet Pinsel is waiting for you ❤️ This little male dog is waiting in his foster home in Westoverledingen for his very own family. He has been there for two weeks and has already settled in well. He gets along great with everyone who lives or works on the farm or visits. The riding school is also something he likes, and he plays happily with them. At first, he was a bit confused about all the different animals he encountered there, but now he finds it great and runs around calmly between the rabbits, chickens, and horses. Overall, he impresses everyone with his open, friendly, and pleasant nature. For a puppy, he is not at all hyperactive but absolutely balanced. Collar and leash training are diligently practiced, and he gets along well with other dogs; he would be happy with a dog where he can copy everything. This, however, is not a must. Currently, he is 4-5 months old and will grow to be at most medium-sized, tending to be on the smaller side. Pinsel is looking for people who don’t have any expectations of him and can show him how a normal dog life works. He is still a baby and has a lot to learn. Occasional mishaps shouldn’t be held against him, and Pinsel should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. He is looking forward to his new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling, and a visit to the puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the lives of these little rascals upside down. They often forget everything they have learned and their ears are on high alert. Therefore, it is especially important during this phase to consistently but lovingly train them. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Pinsel is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. Also, his EU pet passport is in his luggage. Stand: 28.07.

Vielen Dank Julia M.! Du hast Pinsel diesen wirklich passenden Namen gegeben und damit seinen Weg in eine glückliche Zukunft geebnet. Stand: 28.07.2024

About Pinsel

What life with Pinsel looks like

Pinsel is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pinsel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pinsel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pinsel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pinsel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pinsel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pinsel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pinsel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
