Pip

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

February 2020 | 50cm | 16kg | Animal Shelter on Rhodes The beautiful Pip with the loving gaze is the mother of Anouk, Benchi and Mila. She was surrendered to the animal shelter along with her six puppies at the beginning of the year (2023). Three of them were adopted right from the start. Now she and the three remaining little mice are still looking for a warm home and people who love them. They can all be adopted individually, but also gladly together. Pip is about 3.5 years old, medium-sized and already spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. The test for Mediterranean diseases was negative. She is ready for export immediately. Character-wise, her loving and calm nature is immediately noticeable. She always keeps an eye on everyone and takes care of each of her children very lovingly. She can also play with them, run around and have fun. One must not forget that she herself is still a young female dog. With her, one would certainly have a wonderful companion, who is always there for you and watches over you. With children, she would certainly be great too. PAW HEROES e.V. PAW HEROES e.V. About Pip

What life with Pip looks like

Pip is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at og:image in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pip, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pip?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. og:image handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pip on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pip if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — og:image will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pip already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pip isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with og:image early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pip and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
