Adopt Pipa (w)

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

PIPA (w) – born March 2022 Pipa was born in March and currently lives in the private animal shelter Adoor in the Romanian city of Botoșani. Pipa was found and fortunately got to join the puppy group. There, she grows up together with other puppies and, despite the difficult conditions of a Romanian animal shelter, can at least experience a small piece of untroubled puppyhood. Our German animal welfare colleague was just on-site in Romania and met the little mouse. She was immediately smitten and said right away: "You must definitely promote the little Pipa!" And yes – all dogs deserve a home. But Pipa has it even harder: She is black. Still, the completely nonsensical belief that black dogs are dangerous or less friendly persists. But Pipa is the exact opposite: She is totally sweet, lively, playful, people-oriented, and simply a little sunbeam. Currently, she lives with her age-matched companions, loves playing, and curiously explores the world. Anyone who looks into her eyes immediately realizes: This little mouse is simply waiting to be allowed to belong. Location: private animal shelter Adoor, Botoșani travel arrangements possible: from the end of June End size: currently difficult to estimate precisely, but likely around 40 cm Who gives Pipa the chance at a loving home and shows her how beautiful dog life can be? PIPA is already vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and of course in possession of an EU passport. At her current age, PIPA is naturally not yet spayed. Contact: PIPA will be rehomed by Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. – with The organization, of course, has the §11 (Animal Welfare Act) in place. Even after adoption, we will continue to support you – for both human and animal. PIPA will travel to Germany and arrive in 91278 Pottenstein, where she is also wanted to be picked up.

About Pipa (w)

What life with Pipa (w) looks like

Pipa (w) is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pipa (w), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pipa (w)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pipa (w) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pipa (w) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pipa (w) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pipa (w) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pipa (w) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
