Pipilotta

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 9 years

Pipilotta is a little cat with big ears 🤗 She's still very overwhelmed by the shelter situation and longs for understanding people who are patient and can give her a beautiful home. Pipilotta is afraid of humans, she growls, flattens her ears, but she lets herself be picked up and even enjoys being on your arm after a while. It would be great if there was already a young friendly cat in the new home, Pipilotta could then learn a lot and will certainly quickly understand that we humans are actually quite nice. The little one is currently about eight weeks old and is looking for a quieter household without small children. We very much hope that the little one soon gets the chance to start anew, maybe with you? Note: If you click on one of the following links, you will be redirected to the corresponding page. About Pipilotta

What life with Pipilotta looks like

Pipilotta is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Julias Tierheim Ahaus in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pipilotta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pipilotta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Julias Tierheim Ahaus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pipilotta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pipilotta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Julias Tierheim Ahaus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pipilotta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pipilotta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Julias Tierheim Ahaus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pipilotta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
