Pipo

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten · 3 months

Hello, my name is Pipo and my story began when I appeared alone in Nalda, La Rioja. I don't know how I got there or what happened to end up without a family by my side, but I do know that fortunately, someone noticed me and decided to help me. I am still a kitten and I have a whole life ahead of me. Maybe that's why, despite having started my story in a way that I didn't choose, I still have a lot of enthusiasm to discover the world. And if there's something that defines me, it's that I'm a little charmer. I'm very sociable, affectionate and close. I like to be accompanied, receive pets and feel that someone is close to me. I don't want to go unnoticed; I want to be part of a family, grow surrounded by affection and learn how nice it is to have a home of my own. Right now I'm small, but one day I will grow and become a big cat, one of those that occupy a huge place in the heart of their family. And to get there I need something that means everything to me: a family that bets on me forever. I want a house where I can grow safely, play, run, discover every corner, sleep warm and, above all, where I never feel alone again. I want to have my favorite person, my sofa, my toys and that place to know that I can always return. I'm not looking for a perfect family. I'm just looking for a family that really loves me and understands that adopting means accompanying me for my whole life, even when I stop being that adorable little kitten and become an adult.

About Pipo

What life with Pipo looks like

Pipo is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Animales Rioja in Spain.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pipo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pipo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animales Rioja handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pipo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pipo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animales Rioja will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pipo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pipo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animales Rioja early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pipo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
