Pippa

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Pippa breed: mixed-breed size: approx. 32 cm / 4 kg born: March 2026 gender: female location: Debrecen (Hungary) with dogs? compatible with cats? unknown house-trained? no participation: 450,- Euro Pippa - a delicate, little mouse child is looking for her luck Little Pippa did not have an easy start in life. Together with her mom, a Fox Terrier mix, and her sister Felina, she was found alone in the woods. Nobody was looking for or missing the little family. Fortunately, they are all now safe - and Pippa is waiting to finally find her own family. Pippa is a friendly, open-minded and curious young dog. She loves to explore her surroundings, is playful, curious, cheerful and age-appropriately agile. Pippa already walks well on a leash. Like every puppy, she still needs to learn the dog basics. That's why she's looking for people who will teach her everything she needs for a happy family life with loving consistency, patience and empathy. Pippa likes children. She is compatible with other dogs, even if she is initially a bit reserved. We currently don't know if she knows cats - we'll test that if needed. We wish for Pippa a loving, patient and consistent home where she can arrive at her own pace. A securely fenced garden would be nice, but it's not a must. More important are people who give her time to build trust and love her as a full-fledged family member. Pippa has a lot of potential to become a loyal companion for life. Now she just needs one thing: people who show her that she never has to be alone again. Who will give this enchanting little dog lady a loving home and a happy dog life? NOTE: If you are interested in one of our dogs, we first need a self-disclosure from you. You can find the corresponding questionnaire in the respective dog's ad on our website www.tierschutz-pfote.de, which you can fill out online. We can arrange a meeting and a possible

About Pippa

What life with Pippa looks like

Pippa is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutz-Pfote e.V. in Lohmar.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pippa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pippa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz-Pfote e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pippa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pippa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz-Pfote e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pippa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pippa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz-Pfote e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pippa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
