Breed: Domestic Short HairGender: female, spayedColor: mouse-gray tabbyBorn: 2024Found in: EiterfeldCategories: Cat, Cats, AnimalsDescriptionDescriptionOh, poor Pipper hasn't had an easy life. She arrived at the animal shelter with her very young kittens. Probably due to the circumstances, she wasn't able to care for her babies, so we had to place them in foster care to be bottle-fed. Now, the mouse-gray tabby Pipper lives in G2 and is one of those invisible cats who always sit hidden away and are extremely fearful. When we try to make contact, she still reacts very uncertainly and prefers to hiss as the only behavior that seems appropriate to her. We're looking for a understanding and patient new home for her—one where she'll be given plenty of time to settle in and build trust. Then perhaps Pipper could even become a cuddly little sweetheart.Info: The animal descriptions are based on observations made at the shelter or on information provided by third parties and do not constitute guaranteed characteristics!Pipper07.06.2026. About Pipper

What life with Pipper looks like

Pipper is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Fulda in Fulda.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pipper, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pipper?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Fulda handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pipper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pipper if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Fulda will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pipper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pipper isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Fulda early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pipper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
