A small dog with a big story about how a person can slowly fade away beside another—without anyone noticing. Piškot is a small, wary little boy with brown fur and a crooked tail. At first glance, he’s just another unassuming dog. One of those that life has mostly taught to wait quietly and not get in the way. He lived beside an old man who, long ago, could no longer take care of himself or him. And unfortunately, not even him. Rotting teeth, pain, neglected health, untreated rear lumps… but perhaps worse was what wasn’t visible. Loneliness. Indifference. Silence. Piškot is a nervous, cautious, and closed-off dog. Not because he doesn’t want to love people. Just that he’s long since stopped being sure that anyone really cares. But now, with us, a new chapter begins. He’s had his teeth treated—sick teeth had to come out, and the pain is finally gone. We still need an operation on his rear lumps, but we need a safe distance between anesthetics. And in the meantime? In the meantime, Piškot can slowly search for his true home. A home where he won’t just be “somewhere beside.” A home where someone will notice that he’s afraid, that he needs guidance, that he doesn’t want to always be uncertain. That he needs time, but also rules, manners, and certainty in what will happen and what is expected of him as a dog. That he’s learning to trust. That he’s learning to live as a dog with everything that comes with it. And that even a small, broken dog can one day bloom into the biggest and most loyal expression of dog love. Piškot doesn’t seek perfect people. He just needs someone who will never let him fade away in silence. Someone who will care for him, raise him, take him on walks, and simply love him. Given his delicate and sensitive nature, he’s looking for a home without young children and a lot of noise. Piškot loves walks and is a pleasant companion on them. Once he’s fit, he’ll surely be happy to cover some good kilometers. He doesn’t seek the company of other dogs, but he also doesn’t need it. We believe that a well-mannered companion could be a good life support after a responsible introduction. We have no experience with his relationship to other animals. He’s not fond of being carried, dislikes heights and enclosed spaces. Though it might seem like it, a cobby dog will probably never be that way. Piškot is protected against external and internal parasites and is microchipped. Vaccination for planned procedures had to be postponed. His teeth are in order now, but he’ll need to be regularly cared for regarding them for the rest of his life. In June, his scary rear lumps, which are time bombs, should be removed. Then he can set off on his own path, and he can start exploring now. It’s definitely better for him that the time of convalescence passes.
