Pit

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 5 years

Pit is a lovely 5-year-old pup who has been entrusted to us by SACPA in Béziers. He’s an affectionate dog, brimming with sweetness and love 🐶 Very pleasant to walk, Pit walks calmly on the leash and doesn’t pull. We’ve had the chance to get to know him in an urban environment, where he’s starting to get used to the city and its many new experiences—yet all of these are completely new to him. He’s shown himself to be curious, attentive, and able to adapt with serenity. Pit gets along well with other dogs as well as with cats. Calm, gentle, and endearing, he can’t wait to share his daily life with a loving family. Today, Pit is just waiting for a home ready to commit to him for life, to offer him all the love and stability he truly deserves 💕 To come meet him or for more information, please contact us by email, message on our social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram), or by phone at 05 65 71 99 36 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the morning and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the afternoon—except on Tuesdays and Thursdays, when we’re closed to the public 😊

FR·Show original

About Pit

What life with Pit looks like

Pit is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Société Protectrice des Animaux SPA de Rodez in Sainte-Radegonde.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pit, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pit?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Société Protectrice des Animaux SPA de Rodez handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pit on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pit if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Société Protectrice des Animaux SPA de Rodez will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pit already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pit isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Société Protectrice des Animaux SPA de Rodez early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pit and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
