adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Piti has found his home! His story: Piti is a young puppy with a slender build, long, fine legs, and plush, incredibly cute ears that one can't help but fall in love with. He is expected to be medium-sized, around 45 cm tall. At the moment, he is still very delicate and light, but he will surely grow a bit more. He was born in June. Piti also came from our spay/neuter initiative in Targusor. Without help, he and his siblings likely wouldn't have made it through. Fortunately, he grew up in a loving foster home where he learned about human interaction, security, and living with other dogs. Today, he shows himself to be friendly, sensitive, and inquisitive. Piti has something elegant about him – he moves lightly, attentively, and observantly. He is not a go-getter but a gentle explorer who wants to understand the world at his own pace. With other dogs, he is social and harmonious, and he meets people affectionately, especially if given some time to warm up. And once he trusts, he is a small heart on four paws. Of course, he is still in the puppy and learning phase. He wants to understand, experiment, and gain security. With patience, warmth, and loving guidance, Piti will become a faithful companion – sensitive, clingy, and smart. If you are looking for a dog who is not loud or stormy but gentle, respectful, attentive, and incredibly sweet, then Piti could be the perfect lifelong friend. Piti travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, with an EU pet passport to his new home. Even a foster home would be a wonderful stepping stone into his future. Ready for plush ears and a big heart? Many thanks, Lars! You named Piti! Date: 31.10. This is a young, adolescent dog.

Vielen Dank Lars! Du hast Piti seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 31.10.2025

About Piti

What life with Piti looks like

Piti is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Piti, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Piti?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Piti on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Piti if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Piti already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Piti isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Piti and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
