Pixi

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 6 months

Pixi, a friendly and curious Pixie, is eagerly waiting to find her forever family. She lives with her sister at the shelter, hoping for people who can give her the chance to a loving home. For a young dog, puppyhood should be full of security, adventure, and beautiful experiences, not shelter life. Pixi is an open, friendly, and people-oriented dog girl. She enjoys attention, seeks contact with people, and approaches her environment with curiosity and interest. With her lovable nature, she has the best prerequisites to become a wonderful family dog. Of course, Pixi is still at the beginning of her life and wants to learn many things. Living in a house, fixed routines in everyday life, house training, leash training, or even staying alone calmly are things she hasn't experienced yet. Her new family should be happy to accompany her patiently through puppyhood and the subsequent puberty and show her the world step by step. When fully grown, Pixi is expected to reach a shoulder height of about 50 to 55 cm. However, we cannot say this with certainty. We wish for people who can give her love, security, and time. People who want to grow, learn, and collect many beautiful memories with her. We are looking for a loving home or a foster home for Pixi so she can leave the shelter soon and finally find her own happiness. Pixel is vaccinated and microchipped and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive preliminary check. Due to her age, she is not yet spayed. Departure possible immediately! General note on our protégés: Our dogs in Romania are regularly visited so we can always re-evaluate their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us very much to convey a good picture of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment - with new people, new routines, and new impressions - can also show itself differently. This is quite normal and is part of every change process. Many dogs even open up faster at home and show sides that were not visible in the shelter. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but are not a guarantee for every behavior in the new environment. They should give an orientation and show how the dog presents itself in the shelter - and what potential is in him. We are convinced: With patience, understanding, and a loving environment, every dog can find its way and develop positively.

About Pixi

What life with Pixi looks like

Pixi is a puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pixi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pixi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pixi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pixi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Pixi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pixi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pixi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
