Plumcia

Mixed Breed · Female

Plumcia arrived at the foundation from Nowy Targ, currently residing in a temporary home where she awaits adoption. In the home, she is called Patka and is described as a charming, feisty little cat. She was caught in Nowy Targ’s neighborhood, where she was not well-liked by its residents. She was caught for spaying and it turned out that she likes people, so she was brought to the foundation for adoption. Plumcia loves to be petted, especially in the evening when she curls up on her person’s lap, and in the morning she likes to jump into the bed to wake her person up by nuzzling a human hand in hopes of being petted and for breakfast. She is a very people-friendly creature, but when she feels her boundaries are crossed, she shows her claws and loudly communicates that she does not like something. For this reason, she would be best suited in a home without other animals or children. Her favorite hobby is lounging on the balcony or windowsill in the sun’s rays. She also has a huge weakness for raw chicken; eating it or waiting for hours until the refrigerator door opens is her second favorite thing to do during the day. And as soon as she catches the scent of it, she emits sweet sounds of joy and excitement. She likes to sleep close to people, either under the bed or next to them on a chair, sometimes “in their lap,” where she feels safe. She can be litter-box trained without a problem, although large litters are very important to her. She has her favorite foods and treats, and she is very well-mannered, healthy, and problem-free, as long as another kitten does not appear nearby. Plumcia will be a wonderful single cat. She can repay her person for love and care with frequent purring and kneading. We are looking for a home for Mimi that is not going out, loving, and safe, with a secured balcony (if there is one) and/or windows that will surround her with the best care. NOTICE!. This animal needs to be the only pet in the home.

Plumcia przyjechała do fundacji z Nowego Targu, mieszka obecnie w domu tymczasowym, gdzie czeka na adopcję. Plumcia w domu nazywana Patką to urocza, koteczka „z charakterkiem”. UWAGA! About Plumcia

What life with Plumcia looks like

Plumcia is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Plumcia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Plumcia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Plumcia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Plumcia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Plumcia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Plumcia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Plumcia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
