Pluto

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

Pluto is one of those dogs whose transformation is truly heartwarming. He arrived at our shelter as a timid, uncertain boy who dreamed more of disappearing than exploring the world. But nothing happens by chance here - we provide each of our four-legged friends with care, support, and space to flourish at their own pace. Pluto took advantage of this opportunity in the best way possible. Who is this dog for? For people who can look at the world with their heart. For those who know that beautiful relationships are built with patience, calmness, and everyday small gestures. Pluto would love to live in a home where he will be loved, supported, and understood. He dreams of a peaceful environment, without excessive stimuli, preferably with a garden where he can learn about the world at his own pace. Who are we looking for? The ideal home for him is one where someone will go to the first, second, and maybe even third meeting with a smile on their face to gain his trust. A caregiver who will not rush, but step by step show him that life by the side of a human can be the best adventure. Additional support could be a calm resident dog - Pluto gets along very well with other dogs. What's worth knowing about him? This handsome guy is no longer the same scared dog who used to hide in the corner of the kennel. Thanks to his canine friend Lusi, with whom he shared a box, he opened up enormously - she showed him that the world outside the shelter is not so scary. Pluto can already walk on a leash and does it better and better! With each outing, he feels more confident, trusts people more, and gladly accepts caresses... He shows no aggression to people he knows - he is a sensitive, affectionate dog who would really like to finally find his human. One who will look at him not only through the prism of shyness, but above all see the potential for the best dog friend. Pluto is waiting for meetings with people interested in him with hope - because he really deserves his chance. PL·Show original

About Pluto

What life with Pluto looks like

Pluto is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pluto, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pluto?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pluto on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pluto if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pluto already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pluto isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pluto and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
