Pogo

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

Pogo is looking for a home. He is a young (about 5 years old), energetic, neutered boy. He weighs just 5.2kg. He is dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, and protected against fleas and ticks. Generally, he has a full package. Pogo has thyroid problems. He takes 1/4 of a tablet twice a day. The monthly cost of treatment at this point is 30-40 PLN. He receives a supply for several months from his temporary caregiver. Pogo has separation anxiety and is very sensitive to stimuli, so I am looking for a home (not an apartment) for him, preferably in the countryside because he feels much better there. He is a very obedient dog. He understands many commands and instructions. We are looking for a person who can say "no" or "not allowed" and enforce it despite those sweet, buttery eyes. Pogo pulls on leashes during walks to other dogs (not all, some completely ignore them) and can bark at them. He calms down after approaching. The same is true for cats. He can live with a stable female dog or a very calm cat/cats (we mean those that are not afraid of dogs and do not run away from them). He eats both wet and dry food without chicken. He can be cut for treats and is happy to learn new things. He will receive everything to start a new life in a new place. He has a big suitcase! We recommend introductory walks, because Poguś is cautious and distrustful at first contact (he convinces himself to new people very quickly, but the first meeting may not be impressive for him).

Pogo szuka domu To młody (ok. 5 lat), pełen wigoru, wykastrowany chłopak. Waży zaledwie 5,2kg.Jest odrobaczony, zaszczepiony, zachipowany i zabezpieczony przeciwko pchłom i kleszczom.Generalnie - full pakiet. Pogo ma problemy z tarczycą. Przyjmuje 1/4 tabletki 2x dziennie. Rozumie wiele komend i poleceń.

About Pogo

What life with Pogo looks like

Pogo is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at La Fauna Fundacja Dla Zwierząt - interwencje i adopcje in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pogo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pogo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. La Fauna Fundacja Dla Zwierząt - interwencje i adopcje handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pogo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pogo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — La Fauna Fundacja Dla Zwierząt - interwencje i adopcje will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pogo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pogo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with La Fauna Fundacja Dla Zwierząt - interwencje i adopcje early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pogo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
