Polgár Petrecs

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

We were once again able to save a small litter of puppies born on the streets in Polgárd. Our Polgár puppies unfortunately arrived without a mother, but they are strong little dogs who have successfully passed the first obstacle and now it's time for them to find a family. Our Polgár puppies (1 girl and 3 boys) were probably born around the end of August 2024 and are expected to be medium-sized. We are looking for loving, responsible owners who understand the challenges and losses involved in raising a puppy, who can financially afford the costs of the vaccination program for a young dog, and who will fulfill the neutering obligation, so that these puppies will not end up as discarded offspring on the roadside. Puppy school is recommended so that they do not just remain clumsy puppies, but become smart, adult dogs. Due to their short fur, we do not give them for garden keeping. We have already started their vaccination program, and we will give them away at 8 weeks old, with the continuation of the vaccination program, microchipping, and the obligation of neutering, which must be done by the specified time and we will strictly check this! We give young dogs for adoption in Budapest and within a 30 km radius.

Ismét sikerült egy kis családot megmenti, akik Polgárdon az utcára születtek. About Polgár Petrecs

What life with Polgár Petrecs looks like

Polgár Petrecs is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Orphaned puppy requiring experienced owner for proper socialization and training

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Polgár Petrecs, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Polgár Petrecs?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Polgár Petrecs on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Polgár Petrecs if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Polgár Petrecs already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Polgár Petrecs isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Polgár Petrecs and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
