Polinka

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

I've been wandering the woods for weeks with my mom and siblings. I'm the only one from our family who's found a new home so far. They're still trying to find and catch my mom and siblings. The first days in my new place were really tough for me. I was very shy, but despite my fear, I looked for support from humans. I snuggled up close, because closeness helped me survive those hard times. Now I wag my tail more often, although I'm still a bit shy and need time to feel safe. I need a calm and stable home. Predictability, patience, and a sense of security are important to me - thanks to them, I'll be able to gradually trust and show who I really am. I like other dogs and can get along with cats too. However, children are too big a challenge for me at the moment. I'm slowly discovering the joys of puppy life. I'm starting to chew on toys and really like to snack. I also have a special talent for taking things apart. I'm about 4 months old and currently weigh almost 4 kg. Everything suggests that when I grow up, I shouldn't weigh more than about 10 kg. I'm looking for a person who will give me time, peace, and a sense of security, so I can learn step by step that I don't have to be afraid anymore.

PL·Show original

Potrzebuję spokojnego i stabilnego domu. Mam około 4 miesięcy i ważę obecnie prawie 4 kg.

About Polinka

What life with Polinka looks like

Polinka is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at GRUPA RATUJ Wrocław in Poland.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Polinka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Polinka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. GRUPA RATUJ Wrocław handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Polinka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Polinka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — GRUPA RATUJ Wrocław will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Polinka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Polinka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with GRUPA RATUJ Wrocław early rather than rehoming privately; they know Polinka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
