Adopt Polly available

Mastiff · Female · Adult · 5 years

Hi everyone! My name is Polly and I'm a 5 year old girlie on the lookout for my loving forever home. My past life is also a bit of a mystery but I've not had the easiest of times so I'm looking for gentle, kind and reassuring pet humans to give me the happy ever after I deserve. I can be a little worried of new people initially...I'm more of a slow burner when it comes to building a relationship with you but rest assured, once we're pals then I really do love you! I love to greet my friends and hang out with you. I'm a huge food enthusiast which does help with my training and if ever I am feeling worried. I am a really smart girl and I actually really enjoy training- I'm always keen to see what you can teach me next so I'm going to love learning new things together. As for toys, I kind of know what they are and kind of don't!! Maybe you could show me the fun in them and I'll develop my playful side at home. I'm not looking to share my home with any children. I am good with dogs out on my walks and do currently spend time with another little friend here but I can be a bit full on in my playing chase with them so any dog friends in my life should be up for a bit of rough and tumble and be a confident pooch as I might pick up on any of their insecurities. I wouldn't want to live with any feline friends. If you think I could be the girl for you, then I can't wait to hear from you! NAWT Bedfordshire Glebe Farm, Salford Road, Milton Keynes Bedfordshire MK17 8HZ Choose an item from our Amazon wish-list and it will come straight to us! Sponsor me and my friends to ensure I am safe and warm until I find a family to call my own.

About Polly available

What life with Polly available looks like

Polly available is a extra-large adult mastiff dog waiting at National Animal Welfare Trust in Watford.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Polly available, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Polly available?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. National Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Polly available on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Polly available if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — National Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Polly available already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Polly available isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with National Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Polly available and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
