Adopt Pom

Mixed Breed Cat · Female

Description Our animal welfare workers report: Pretty POM is waiting together with her sister Pin at a panicky foster home for her home happiness. The two are hard to distinguish. Pin has a small gap in the black stripe on her nose, while Pom has a dot above the black stripe. Finding any difference between them was really hard! Pom is an outgoing lady who does not shy away from human proximity. On the contrary, she enjoys being petted and receiving attention! Pom also likes to play, but is a bit more calm and laid-back than her sister. Despite this, a fellow animal should not be missing in her new home, and it would be nice if there was already a friend waiting for her there. She would also be happy to bring her sister along. So Pom is on the lookout for a loving home where she can relax, be petted diligently, and truly enjoy her cat life. Where can Pom find this happiness? The animal presented here comes from a shelter that houses many animals. For these animals, we are searching for a home for a loving and safe life in Germany. The descriptions are brief because there simply isn't time to provide detailed descriptions during the daily work of caring for all the animals. If interested, a detailed description can be requested by sending an email to the provided address. We will try to answer your questions as soon as possible. Home sought For Pom, we are searching for a loving, understanding home. Our cats are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and come with an EU Pass, if their age and health condition allow. Additionally, they are tested for FELV/FIV. We look forward to your contact.

About Pom

What life with Pom looks like

Pom is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pom, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pom?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pom on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pom if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pom already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pom isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pom and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
