Popcorn

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 5 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Popcorn has found her home! Her story: Baia Mare, Romania. A small, delicate puppy stumbled alone and lonely along a river. Just in time, she was found by a young girl and brought to our animal rescuer in Baia Mare. Since such a small puppy doesn't belong in the shelter, a foster home was found. Great luck for the little Popcorn. For Popcorn is truly unique. She has two differently colored eyes and funny standing ears that make her unmistakable. The sweet Popcorn is just five months old. She currently weighs about 7 kilos and will likely stay a relatively small size. Popcorn is an open-minded puppy that loves to be petted and even plays with the family's cat. She can already walk well on a leash and is a eager learner who wants to please. Popcorn gets along well with other dogs too. Like all dogs, and also people, every so sweet little one eventually hits puberty. Boundaries are tested, and previously learned things are sometimes forgotten. It's important to hold through it with love and a lot of patience by the side of the fosterling. Even the time of puberty will pass, and with positive reinforcement training, it might even pass faster than expected. A visit to a dog training class that works exclusively positively, where human and dog learn together, would be perfect here. With her wonderful nature, she brings wonderful prerequisites and is happy to grow with her people. Our Popcorn is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She has an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive visit. Many thanks to Steffi V. You have given Popcorn a name and thus an identity.

About Popcorn

What life with Popcorn looks like

Popcorn is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Popcorn, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Popcorn?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Popcorn on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Popcorn if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Popcorn already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Popcorn isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Popcorn and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
