Popol is a magnificent blue-gray chinchilla with a particularly touching story. Found in the middle of winter, abandoned by the side of a country road, he was very thin and deeply marked by this ordeal upon arrival. Extremely shy, every noise and movement seemed to worry him. With a lot of patience, tenderness and appropriate care, Popol gradually regained his strength. His condition improved day by day, and now he has a healthy weight and a shiny, dense coat. But the most beautiful change remains his behavioral development: he is beginning to trust humans, approaches timidly, observes, and increasingly accepts gentle contact. Popol remains a sensitive chinchilla who will need a calm and reassuring environment, as well as a patient person willing to continue this trust-building work at his own pace. Like all chinchillas, he has specific needs: an appropriate diet, a safe space to exercise, regular sand baths, and especially careful attention to temperature and stress. Behind his shyness lies a lovely little being who just wants to discover, at his own pace, that humans can also be synonymous with safety and tenderness.

Popol est un magnifique chinchilla gris bleuté au destin particulièrement touchant. Retrouvé en plein hiver, abandonné au bord d’une route de campagne, il était à son arrivée très amaigri et profondément marqué par cette épreuve. Extrêmement peureux, chaque bruit et chaque mouvement semblaient l’inquiéter. Avec beaucoup de patience, de douceur et des soins adaptés, Popol a peu à peu repris des forces. Son état s’est amélioré jour après jour, et aujourd’hui, il retrouve un poids de forme ainsi qu’un pelage sain et dense. Mais le plus beau changement reste son évolution comportementale : il commence à faire confiance à l’humain, s’approche timidement, observe, et accepte de plus en plus le contact en douceur. Popol reste un chinchilla sensible, qui aura besoin d’un environnement calme et rassurant, ainsi que d’une personne patiente, prête à continuer ce travail de mise en confiance à son rythme. Comme tous les chinchillas, il a des besoins bien spécifiques : une alimentation adaptée, un espace sécurisé pour se dépenser, des bains de sable réguliers, et surtout une attention particulière à la température et au stress. Derrière sa timidité se cache un petit être attachant qui ne demande qu’à découvrir, à son rythme, que l’humain peut aussi être synonyme de sécurité et de douceur.
