Pötyi

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

In the spring of 2022, he laid eyes on the neighbor's hens, and instead of strengthening the fence, his owners got rid of it, so he came into our care. Pötyi is a real little terrier mix. 😊 He is active, cheerful, curious, gets along well with his peers and often makes his voice heard. He is long past the sex education and the subsequent recovery. We want to find a responsible owner for him too!

About Pötyi

What life with Pötyi looks like

Pötyi is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Vackoló Állatmenhely Veszprém in Vackolo.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pötyi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pötyi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vackoló Állatmenhely Veszprém handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pötyi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pötyi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vackoló Állatmenhely Veszprém will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pötyi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pötyi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vackoló Állatmenhely Veszprém early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pötyi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
