Adopt Primula

English Bulldog · Female · Senior · 9 years

Primula is a 9-year-old French Bulldog who arrived in our care as a stray. Sadly, it’s clear that life has not always been kind to this little lady. When Primula first came to us, she was in a very sorry state. She was suffering from a painful ear infection that had clearly gone untreated for a long time. While this is now being treated and improving well, it has unfortunately left one of her ears permanently misshapen. Her claws were also severely overgrown, with several having grown into her paw pads, causing her considerable pain and making walking very uncomfortable. On top of that, Primula arrived underweight, suggesting she hadn’t been receiving the regular meals she needed to stay healthy and strong. Despite everything she has endured, Primula’s spirit remains wonderfully bright. Now that she is receiving the care she deserves, she is slowly blossoming into the happy, playful little dog she was always meant to be. She walks beautifully on the lead and has lovely manners when meeting both people and other dogs. She enjoys a good play and will happily roll around in delight, reminding everyone that she still has plenty of joy left to share. Primula is currently on a fish-based diet to help manage previously untreated allergies, and we are already seeing fantastic improvements with far less itching each day. She’s also quite the clever girl and absolutely loves showing off the tricks she knows. Ask her nicely and she’ll happily demonstrate sit, spin, double paw, and her impressive “meerkat” impression — which never fails to make people smile. Primula could potentially live with respectful children, dog-savvy cats, and calm neutered dogs, pending introductions. After such a difficult start, Primula deserves nothing less than a life full of comfort, kindness, and love. She isn’t asking for much — just gentle walks, a cosy place to sleep, a steady supply of toys, good food, and people who will cherish her the way she always should have been. As she settles into her new life, Primula would benefit from a home where someone is around most of the time initially, helping her adjust slowly and feel secure in her new world. This brave little girl has already overcome so much. All she needs now is someone willing to give her the happy ending she truly deserves.
