adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Prinz Eddy has found his people! His story: Our Wuschel Prinz Eddy was rescued from the Public Shelter, where animals are still being euthanized. Although this gentle male dog doesn't really belong here, he belongs in a loving family where he can show how great he is. That's why we quickly gave him a name and his first real identity, took his photograph, and are now searching for tierliebe and responsible people who want to take Prinz Eddy into their home. Of course, it would be ideal if a permanent home for Prinz Eddy could be found directly, but even in a suitable foster home, Prinz Eddy could take the first steps into a life as a family dog. Prinz Eddy is approximately 2.5 years old and about 58 cm tall. His cream-white, slightly long fur is soft and cuddly. His amber eyes look expectantly to the future. Prinz Eddy is a modest and lovable fellow who is always friendly and respectful to both people and other dogs. But Prinz Eddy is a mixed breed, and it's still too early to say what breed-specific traits might emerge. Guard and herding dog genes cannot be ruled out. However, he already walks well on a leash and has passed puberty. Prinz Eddy has his whole life ahead of him. And his new people have the power to shape him into a model family dog through lots of love, engagement, patience, and diligent training. Attending a positively working dog training class is certainly recommended. There, from beginner to experienced dog trainer, everyone can pick up a tip or two or get some inspiration. Regular training will help Prinz Eddy adjust to his new life and strengthen his bond with his adopters. If you fall in love with the sweet Prinz Eddy and are ready for the "adventure of dog training," then contact us. The adoption fee for taking in the dog is 500 Euros. Thank you, Thorsten. You have given Prinz Eddy an identity! Date. 26.05. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vielen Dank Thorsten. Du hast Prinz Eddy eine Identität geschenkt! Stand. 26.05.2024

About Prinz Eddy

What life with Prinz Eddy looks like

Prinz Eddy is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Prinz Eddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Prinz Eddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Prinz Eddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Prinz Eddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Prinz Eddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Prinz Eddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Prinz Eddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
