Adopt Prommi

Mixed Breed · Male

Hello, I am Prommi, the tomcat, who not only survived a neutering operation but also discovered my inner superstar. I came to the animal shelter because they neutered me (yes, I know, I still look good). At first, I was really down—so low that even a lollipop couldn’t cheer me up. But the animal shelter has helped me bounce back, and now I’m back to being the charming little guy the world desperately needs. I’m not just cuddly; I’m deluxe cuddly. I love cuddles so much that sometimes I forget you want to stop. Then I hold your hand with my paws, not aggressively but lovingly. I’m basically a “petting safety belt”: when you stop, I stop you because I want it to keep going. That’s my job. My purpose. My calling. I have a very sweet habit: I like to nibble on fingers. Don’t worry, I’m no vampire; I’m just testing to see if you really exist. Kind of like, "Hello, are you there? I’m going to nibble just to make sure." Very professional, or? Now comes the serious but important part: I have a food allergy to poultry and lamb. And I really mean it; if I eat poultry, there’s not just sad looks but also a diarrhea party at home. That’s not a party you want to celebrate. So please: no chicken, no lamb. Beef is my friend, and that works out great for me. I’m looking for a home where I can have all day cuddles, snuggle time, and play sessions. A home where I can live out my “prommi-program”: purring, nibbling, cuddling, and using my paws to keep you from stopping. If you’re looking for a tomcat who wraps you around his finger with his charm and acts like he’s the king of the world—then contact the animal shelter. I’m ready for my new home. And yes: I’ll remind you every day that you chose me—with paws, purring, and a whole lot of love.

Also bitte: Kein Huhn, kein Lamm.

About Prommi

What life with Prommi looks like

Prommi is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Marktoberdorf in Marktoberdorf.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Prommi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Prommi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marktoberdorf handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Prommi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Prommi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Marktoberdorf will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Prommi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Prommi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marktoberdorf early rather than rehoming privately; they know Prommi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
