Ptysiu

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 8 months

Ptysiu was found in Pecna. No one has claimed him, no one knows him. So for us, his story begins... today. At first glance, Ptysiu is a friendly, nice dog. Gently cautious, but curious about people and very eager for closeness. He looks into your eyes a little longer, as if to ask: "Can I trust you?" And here's something that breaks my heart. On walks, Ptysiu isn't an enthusiastic explorer of the world. Instead of joy, sadness appears. He doesn't feel safe, he wanders aimlessly, as if completely unsure why he's there. A walk, which is a celebration for most dogs, is a difficult moment for him. But it takes just one thing. Returning to his box. Then Ptysiu smiles again. He's happy, friendly, seeks out people, enjoys their presence. As if saying: "At least here I know what to expect." This isn't a dog who doesn't like the world. It's a dog that simply needs a sense of security. Ptysiu is material for a lap dog with his heart on his sleeve. One who will flourish in a home where someone gives him time, peace and ordinary everyday life. Without pressure, without haste. With a chance. Ptyś needs a home. One person who will show him that the world outside the box can also be good.

PL·Show original

Powrót do boksu.

About Ptysiu

What life with Ptysiu looks like

Ptysiu is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ptysiu, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ptysiu?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ptysiu on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ptysiu if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ptysiu already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ptysiu isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ptysiu and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
