Pucki

Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this dog now! The little Pucki is a beautiful Pekingese mix, about 9.5 years old and with his around 30 cm a delicate, small senior looking for people with a heart. His story is sad: Pucki was left in the mountains at night and left to his own devices. Unsettled and frightened, he was found the next morning and fortunately taken in by his current foster family. There, he shows himself to be compatible with other dogs and also meets cats kindly. At first, Pucki is still a bit shy and cautious - no wonder, considering what he has probably experienced in his life. But behind his reserve lies an incredibly kind, sensitive dog grandpa, who longs for nothing more than finally arriving. For Pucki, we are looking for a quiet, loving home with people who would like to give him a few more beautiful years. People who will give him the time to build trust at his own pace and find his own rhythm - without pressure, but with plenty of patience and understanding. In a stable and harmonious environment, Pucki will calm down, gain security, and step by step show what a wonderful little character is in him. He deserves it very much to finally get to know life from its beautiful side. Of course, Pucki travels sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and treated against fleas to Germany and brings his EU pet passport with him. After a positive pre-check and against a fee, he may start his journey into a new life - maybe to you? If you have a big heart, patience and want to give an older dog the chance of a secure home, then this special treasure is waiting for you. Thank you very much to Vera, who gave Pucki his name and thus his own identity. A big thanks also goes to Petra E., who has taken on a monthly sponsorship for Pucki. Status: 19.03.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Pucki

What life with Pucki looks like

Pucki is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pucki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pucki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pucki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pucki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pucki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pucki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pucki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
