adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Puddles has found his people! His story: In search of a loving home: Puddles and his siblings. This young puppy, with his trusting eyes and fluffy brown paws, is looking for a companion who will show him the beautiful side of the world. Puddles is already on packed suitcases! He can travel to his foster home in Schwerin and is looking forward to your visit. Puddles loves to be cuddled, he adores the cuddles of his trusted people. House-trained since the first moment, Puddles now sleeps through the night. While eating, the little cute puppy is still a bit restless, so we recommend that you transfer your own calmness and composure to Puddles. The little puppy is still a bit anxious, but day by day he is settling into his foster home and developing into a real dream dog. Puddles rides in the car like a pro, already walks well on a leash, and has already figured out what the people want from him when they say "sit." Of course, the little sniffer then happily accepts a treat. Puddles has enjoyed the first playful sessions with one of the family's well-known dogs. Being alone is still a bit suspicious for Puddles – he is currently very much surrounded by his two-legged family. This is being practiced in small steps until the puppy can move into his very own family permanently. Are you ready for Puddles? Puddles, who is about 4 months old and already a whirlwind at just a few months, is charming with his beautiful black fur with brown paws and a striking white chest. His cocked ears give him an unmistakable charm. He is expected to be medium-sized, but his heart is already huge. Puppies should not be left alone for long periods in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is still ahead. This phase affects every dog, regardless of size, gender, or age. The hormone chaos turns the little one's world upside down. They often forget everything they have learned and their ears are on high alert. Therefore, it is especially important during this phase to train consistently but lovingly. And there is also good news: Just like with us humans, this phase will pass! If you decide to adopt the little puppy Puddles, he will come to you microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, like all our other shelter animals. He brings his EU pet passport with him and can travel after a positive health check. We wish him that he will be with his new family as soon as possible, after a positive health check. Has Puddles already captured your heart? Many thanks, Muriel! You named Puddles! Stand: 15.06.

Vielen Dank Muriel! Du hast Puddles seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 15.06.2024

About Puddles

What life with Puddles looks like

Puddles is a extra-large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Puddles, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Puddles?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Puddles on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Puddles if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Puddles already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Puddles isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Puddles and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
