Püppie

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

🍀 PÜPPIE – A gentle, dreamy little dog with a stunning coat pattern is searching for her big happiness. The charming pup Püppie has had a fateful first year of life. At Christmas 2024, she and her sister Phila were heartlessly abandoned as tiny puppies and ended up at the municipal animal shelter ASPA Mihailesti. Fortunately, the two were rescued in time and brought to safety. Born in October 2024, Püppie is now just under two years old—a perfect age for a dog: she’s left puppyhood behind and is ready to explore the world alongside her beloved humans. Standing about 50 cm tall at the shoulder, Püppie is one of those elegant, medium-sized ladies. Visually, she’s truly special: her light-colored coat is adorned with beautiful, dark markings that give her a unique and expressive appearance. From her loyal, dark eyes, she looks out into the world with kindness and attentiveness. In terms of character, Püppie is sensitive, friendly, and incredibly good-natured—she makes an ideal companion. Compared to her brave sister, Püppie approaches new situations with a bit more caution and appreciates a loving, calm leadership style. When interacting with other dogs, she consistently shows herself to be social and well-matched, making her an excellent choice as a second dog. Living in a home, being house-trained, and learning the basics of doggy etiquette are still new territory for this lovely lady—but with a little patience, love, and positive reinforcement, she’ll quickly master all of it. Who will give the gentle Püppie the well-deserved basket for a whole dog life? Unsure, compatible, friendly ✓ A home with a garden ✓ Experienced dog owners ✓ Open to another dog ✓ Prefers living in a rural setting—no children in the household We took Püppie in together with her sister PHILA from ASPA Mihailesti. Help Püppie find a forever home—share this with your friends ❤️

About Püppie

What life with Püppie looks like

Püppie is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Püppie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Püppie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Püppie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Püppie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Püppie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Püppie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG early rather than rehoming privately; they know Püppie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
