PYRA

Mixed Breed · Female

PYRA was born in March 2019. This beautiful black panther has a well-defined small character. In daily life, she is rather easy to live with, she is both wise and curious. PYRA also has her cuddly moments and comes willingly onto the laps but you shouldn't try to force her. She is also playful, currently alone in our structure, but there's no doubt that in her family she could reveal herself more easily. She also loves spending time in front of the window looking outside or finding a comfortable closet for one of her many naps during the day. What PYRA doesn't like is being overstimulated, being solicited. It stresses her and she becomes grumpy! PYRA needs time to adapt to a new environment, don't rush her and let her come to you, otherwise she will immediately go into defensive mode. For this reason, she cannot be taken on vacation and moved easily. Due to her long fur, PYRA is prone to hairballs, so her beautiful fur will need regular maintenance (brushing routine even if she doesn't really like it and appropriate diet). She is OK with a very calm cat but will also be fine being the only female cat in the home. PYRA cannot be adopted in a small space such as a studio or with a garden. A small completely secured balcony can be a plus for her.

FR·Show original

About PYRA

What life with PYRA looks like

PYRA is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Animacoeur in Courbevoie.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting PYRA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about PYRA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animacoeur handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw PYRA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt PYRA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animacoeur will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is PYRA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if PYRA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animacoeur early rather than rehoming privately; they know PYRA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
