Quattro

Dalmatian · Male · Puppy · 7 months

Lively young lad Quattro is looking for his forever home. Quattro is a very friendly and loving dog. He is lively and excitable and will need someone who has the time and dedication to put into his training. He loves cuddles, loves attention and getting his ears rubbed. He loves to play and happily entertains himself. Quattro loves going for walks and walks well on the lead. He has had no off lead experience. He’s spent time with other dogs and is very sociable and playful. He has never lived with another dog but could after a successful introduction. Quattro has some experience of children, we feel due to his energy levels and his size, an adult only home or a home with older, dog savvy children would be ideal. He has also lived with cats who he gets along well with and knows the boundaries. However he does like to chase and has a fairly high prey drive. He is happy being left for short periods of time. He is crate trained and would be best suited in a home where he has access to a secure garden. Quattro is very energetic and is still a youngster, this would have to be taken into consideration when applying. Dalmatians are a very unique breed and would need someone who is prepared to offer the needs this breed requires. If you feel you could offer Quattro the loving home he deserves please contact the office directly on or click on “Request to adopt Quattro now”.

About Quattro

What life with Quattro looks like

Quattro is a large puppy/kitten dalmatian dog waiting at DAWGS.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Quattro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Quattro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. DAWGS handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Quattro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Quattro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — DAWGS will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Quattro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Quattro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with DAWGS early rather than rehoming privately; they know Quattro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
