His behavior is improving, but he still needs a safety distance. Despite giving him treats by hand every day, I still can't touch him. He cannot tolerate being touched or even lightly brushed and could bite if his boundaries are not respected. Interacting with unfamiliar people is always very difficult; he barks continuously. With friends he has known for a year now, it takes about 30 minutes to calm down, but they mustn't get up from their chairs otherwise the situation starts again. He gets along well with dogs; he regularly plays with new friends and even if he is shy at first, he quickly gains confidence and enjoys playing. March 2025: According to his foster home: the problem is that Quebec does not let himself be touched or approached, not even by me, except when given food, which he takes in my hand and leaves quickly. A lot of work needs to be done; it will probably be a dog we can never touch; he has been severely traumatized by humans. I spend a lot of time with him every day but there is no progress for the moment. Niveau comportement, ça va de mieux en mieux, mais il lui faut toujours une distance de sécurité. Malgré que je lui donne tous les jours des friandises à la main, je ne peux toujours pas le toucher. Il ne supporte vraiment pas qu'on le touche, même juste l'effleurer, il pourrait mordre sans hésiter si on ne respecte pas ses limites. Avec les personnes inconnues c'est toujours très compliqué, il aboie en continu. Avec mes amis qu'il connaît maintenant depuis un an, il lui faut environ 30 mn pour se calmer, mais il ne faut pas qu'ils se lèvent de leurs chaises sinon c'est reparti. Je passe beaucoup de temps avec lui tous les jours mais il n'y a pas vraiment de progrès pour le moment. Forcer les choses ne sert a rien, j'ai essayé gentiment en le coinçant dans un coin, en me mettant assis et en me rapprochant tranquillement et il m'aurait clairement mordu si je l'avais touché. Il va lui falloir beaucoup (beaucoup) de temps. Sinon sa babine ne le gêne pas du tout, ni même d'être sur 3 pattes cela ne l'empêche pas de courir comme un fou et de jouer avec les autres chiens. 26 août 2024 : selon sa FA : Quebec s'adapte tranquillement, la présence des autres chiens l'aide beaucoup.
