Voor Queenie zoeken we een thuis waar ze eventueel op termijn naar buiten kan in een veilige omgeving. Karakter en achtergrond van de kat: Queenie werd hoogzwanger gevonden bij een verlaten garage. Hoewel haar achtergrond een mysterie bleef, hoorden we al snel dat ze eigenlijk nog maar net een vorig nestje achter de rug had. Slechts een week na haar aankomst in het opvanggezin beviel ze van drie prachtige kittens. Helaas sloeg het noodlot snel toe: Queenie bleek koorts te hebben en droeg vermoedelijk een bacterie over op haar kleintjes. Omdat de kittens gewicht verloren, werd er na het tragische verlies van een kitten besloten om de overige twee over te brengen naar een gespecialiseerd papflesgezin. Ondanks alle goede zorgen heeft een broertje het niet gered, maar het derde kitten stelt het gelukkig uitstekend. Achter deze jonge moeder schuilt eigenlijk zelf nog een kitten. Queenie is ontzettend speels en dol op aandacht. Ze komt zelf haar portie aaitjes opeisen en begint dan direct te spinnen. In het verleden zorgden haar hormonen er weleens voor dat ze onvoorspelbaar uit de hoek kon komen en durfde te bijten. Sinds haar sterilisatie is dit gedrag niet meer voorgevallen, tenzij je het zelf uitlokt. Wel blijven handen een duidelijke trigger voor haar, dus spelen met de handen is absoluut te vermijden. Vanwege deze gebruiksaanwijzing wordt ze liever niet bij kinderen geplaatst. Omdat Queenie buiten is gevonden en nu vaak naar het raam zit te staren, merken we dat ze het buitenleven enorm mist. Een nieuwe thuis waar ze de vrije keuze krijgt om naar buiten te gaan wanneer ze wil, zou dan ook ideaal voor haar zijn. Wel is het belangrijk dat ze het rijk voor zich alleen heeft: op andere katten reageert ze erg agressief. We zoeken voor deze jonge, energieke dame dus een liefdevol gezin zonder andere huisdieren, waar ze de koningin mag zijn die ze hoort te zijn. Alle katten zijn ontvlooid, ontwormd, gevaccineerd, gesteriliseerd, gechipt en geregistreerd. We vragen de gebruikelijke tussenkomst in de dierenartskosten van 180 euro per kat wanneer het herhalingsvaccin nog moet gebeuren en 200 euro wanneer beide vaccinaties al gegeven werden. Adoptieprocedure: Er wordt eerst telefonisch nagegaan of er een goede match kan zijn tussen jou en de kat, nadien kan een afspraak gemaakt worden voor een bezoekje zodat jullie met elkaar kunnen kennis maken. Bij adoptie wordt een adoptiecontract getekend en de adoptiebijdrage wordt betaald bij het afhalen van de kat. Iedere kat vertrekt met een Europees paspoort.
