Adopt Quevedo

Mixed Breed Cat · Male

Description Quevedo was once a stray cat that we caught over a year ago to be neutered and then released back into its colony. He has since developed into a sociable and tame character. During our regular visits to the colony to feed and water the cats and collect sick animals, we noticed that Quevedo had external signs of a viral infection. We took him to our animal shelter and had him medically treated. The vet diagnosed the Calicivirus, which caused gum inflammation and dental issues in Quevedo, necessitating the removal of some teeth. Since then, he has recovered well and currently shows no clinical symptoms of the virus. Quevedo lives in the animal shelter and displays his calm, affectionate, and shy nature, even towards other cats. He is initially a bit wary of strangers but will soon allow closeness and touch once he realizes no danger is present. He so desires to trust and be vulnerable in a home that offers him security, safety, and love, which has been denied to him in his previous life. Who will open their heart to the gentle tiger and meet Quevedo with patience and kindness, allowing him to gradually trust, unfold his affectionate potential, and fill your lives with joy? The animal presented here comes from an animal shelter/foster home that houses many animals. We are searching for a home for a loving and safe life for these animals. The descriptions are brief because there simply isn't time for detailed descriptions in our daily work of caring for all the animals. If interested, a detailed description can be requested by sending your questions directly to the provided email address. We will try to respond as soon as possible. Home sought For Quevedo, we are searching for a loving, understanding home. Our cats come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and with an EU Pass, ready for their new home. Additionally, they are tested for FELV/FIV. We look forward to your contact. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations.

About Quevedo

What life with Quevedo looks like

Quevedo is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Quevedo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Quevedo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Quevedo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Quevedo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Quevedo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Quevedo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Quevedo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
