adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process The little Racker has found her home! Her story: Racker is playful, open, active, and quite wiggly. With Racker, the program is: she loves to play with the other foster dogs, dig, and experience adventures. The little mouse is 4 months old and has a shoulder height of about 20 cm and weighs around 3 kilos. But, as with all puppies, one should not be deceived by the sweet looks: Racker brings not only cute paws but also a fair amount of chaos into life. House training, being left alone, walks, car rides, environmental stimuli – she is still unfamiliar with all of these and needs to be shown them with patience and time. Especially recommended is a visit to a positively working dog training class, where Racker can not only learn the dog ABCs but also how to interact with other dogs and people. Puberty will also not pass by Racker without a trace – she will test boundaries, loudly express her opinion, and sometimes act as if she has never heard of "sit," "stay," or "no." During this phase, she needs loving consequences, calmness, and people who understand and guide her development with patience, while also forgiving the occasional mishap. Racker is clever and curious – a good combination to keep her meaningfully and species-appropriately stimulated later. Whether small games in the garden, joint training, or perhaps even a dog sport like mantrailing or hoop jumping: the main thing is that she can participate and receive mental and physical stimulation. Racker is looking for a home that is ready for a mix of puppy chaos, cuddly moments, learning moments, and great joy. Whoever shows her how wonderful the world can be gets a faithful companion for life. Racker is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and brings an EU pet passport with her and can be adopted after a positive our area. Thank you, Marita! You gave Racker her name. Date: 03.05.

Vielen Dank an Marita! Du hast Racker ihren Namen geschenkt. Stand: 03.05.2025

About Racker

What life with Racker looks like

Racker is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Racker, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Racker?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Racker on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Racker if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Racker already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Racker isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Racker and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
