Radka

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

Radka – an extraordinary cat is looking for a home after her treatments. She is about 6 years old and looks... completely unique. Some say she resembles a gremlin, others that she has something of a fantasy movie character in her. All because of the disease that took her ears (we had to remove her ear flaps due to squamous cell cancer). The cancer was removed with a narrow margin, but it was malignant. You have to keep in mind that in the future, metastases may appear. This does not discourage Radka, it just means that she needs a person who will give her a chance "here and now" to live in warmth and peace, instead of in a cage. Radka has not lost any of her beauty at all. On the contrary, her original appearance makes it hard to pass by her without feeling something. She is a cat who has strength in her! Radka does not like being petted, she prefers to watch from the side and be close, but on her own terms. Unfortunately, in the shelter, she spends her whole life in a kennel, because other cats cause her great stress. Does her future really have to look like this? Instead of bars, does she not deserve a soft blanket and peace? Maybe in a home environment she will show a new face? She is spayed, and her FIV/FeLV tests are negative. Radka is looking for a permanent or temporary home where she will be the only cat.

PL·Show original

About Radka

What life with Radka looks like

Radka is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja EkoStraż in Wrocław.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Radka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Radka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja EkoStraż handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Radka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Radka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja EkoStraż will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Radka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Radka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja EkoStraż early rather than rehoming privately; they know Radka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
