RAFAEL

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Rafael, 7 years old, small to medium size (10-12kg) - RAFAEL HAS LOST EVERYTHING :-( Gentle little eared dog. Obedient and spoiled, used to living in an apartment. Raf is the type of dog that needs his "own" person. He doesn't trust strangers easily. He would definitely appreciate a quieter environment, without city noise or small children. He could also go to active seniors who could give him enough walks and activities. He would enjoy living in a house with a garden, but also in an apartment, as long as he is close to his family. He reacts friendly to other dogs here. We are looking for a new home for this sweet little eared dog. Raf was used to being with his owner all the time - going for walks, lounging at home, cuddling. Unfortunately, his owner passed away and there was no one to take care of Raf. So he ended up in the shelter, where he is really sad. He really needs to belong to someone again. We ask that only serious applicants contact us, who have thought through getting a dog, have suitable conditions at home, and will have the time and desire to devote to the dog for his entire life. If you contact us in writing, please provide information about yourself, your family, and the conditions the dog would go to. We will only contact suitable applicants. If you are looking for a loyal dog companion, we will be happy to give Raf a chance.

Mohl by i k aktivním seniorům, kteří by mu mohli dopřát dostatek procházek a vyžití. Moc by potřeboval zase k někomu patřit.

About RAFAEL

What life with RAFAEL looks like

RAFAEL is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Jménem psa z.s. in Bzenec.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇿Adopting from Czech Republic

Czech shelters (útulky) include sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID. The adopter signs a written contract (smlouva) — the shelter may follow up to verify wellbeing.

Frequently asked

Adopting RAFAEL, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about RAFAEL?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jménem psa z.s. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw RAFAEL on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt RAFAEL if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jménem psa z.s. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is RAFAEL already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if RAFAEL isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jménem psa z.s. early rather than rehoming privately; they know RAFAEL and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (CS). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
